What it is and what it costs

MarriageHeat is a long-running community site for erotic stories, advice posts and discussion, written by and for married Christian couples. Its own mission statement is blunt about the purpose: the site "exists to help build and support a culture of hot biblical monogamy", and its guidelines ask contributors to keep "a Christ-centered mindset". The support page calls it "an anonymous community that inspires beautiful, sexy marital relationships between committed Christians" and says it has been free "since 2012". A reader who does not share that outlook should know it frames everything, from the story rules to the comment tone.

Most of the site costs nothing. The FAQ says "You can read most stories without ever creating an account", and creating one is free: "You will not be asked for payment information." A paid layer exists on top, called Ignite, which the FAQ describes as "our membership program that rewards supporters with more in-depth stories every Friday (and alternate Tuesdays when we have lots incoming), audio recordings of all Ignite stories and many of the regular ones, and monthly downloadable compilations." A separate donate page asks for voluntary financial gifts from regular visitors.

In short: free reading, a free account for commenting and posting, and an optional supporter tier whose extras include audio. Audio is an extra on the paid side, not part of the free reading.

Paying and stopping

The part to read carefully is what the pages leave out. They publish no price for Ignite, no billing period, no trial, no descriptor and no named payment processor. The privacy policy says only that a credit card number is "handled through a third party card processor", without naming one, and the pages do not state how a charge appears on a statement.

What the pages do say is how stopping works. The FAQ answers its own question, "How do I delete my account? How can I cancel my subscription?", with one route: "you can do so by simply sending us an email". The email has to come from the address tied to the account, because otherwise the FAQ says "we can't confirm your ownership of the account." The FAQ describes no cancel button or store route.

The site's Cancellation and Refund Policy opens by saying it applies only to paid subscriptions, and that anyone who never typed in payment information has not subscribed. It adds 2 timing rules. In October 2026 it said subscriptions "must be canceled no later than 3 days (72 hours) prior to your next billing date", by email to the site's contact address, with a reply generally within 48 hours and the subscription staying active for the rest of the billing cycle. Refunds are issued "if requested within 7 days of the original purchase of the subscription", which the policy glosses as the first payment, so a later billing falls outside that window. A refund, once issued, cancels the subscription at once, and the policy says the payment processor advises that it can take 5-10 days to show on a statement.

The terms also contain general purchase language about orders, accurate billing information and the right to limit or cancel orders. Account emails matter in a way that can surprise: the terms say that if you unsubscribe from account-maintenance emails, or if mail to your address bounces, the account is deleted.

On donations, the support page asks only for "voluntary financial donation" and states that the free content will continue "as long as we are online". No amounts or suggested sums appear on the pages.

Account, data and the site's rules

Reading needs nothing. Commenting or submitting a story needs a free account, which asks for "just a username of your choosing" and an email address you can access, not a name. The guidelines add that the username can never be changed, even by the owners, and warn against using an email address as a username. Free accounts with no stories and no sign-in activity for 6 months may be deleted. Registration requires confirming that you have read the terms, in which you represent that you are 18 years of age or older.

The privacy policy lists cookies, log files (IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring and exit pages, time stamps) and web beacons, and says Google Analytics is used to understand how visitors use the site, with an opt-out link. It says the site does not change its practices when a browser sends a Do Not Track signal. European residents may ask to access, correct or delete data, and information is transferred outside Europe, including to Canada and the United States. The policy says the site is not intended for anyone under 18. The terms say the website is operated by MarriageHeat, LLC.

Deleting an account does not remove stories. The FAQ says authors grant "the irrevocable right to publish" what they submit, and after removal their stories are attributed to an account called "No Longer With Us".

The content rules are the most specific part of the site. Stories and comments "may only involve sexual escapades between one married heterosexual couple", with no affairs and no group sex. The site's closest answer to an age-of-characters statement is its refusal to publish language involving "even a fantasy of degradation, physical harm, under-age sex", plus the one-married-couple rule. It is not a flat statement that every character is an adult. Stories carry labels for strong language, anal content and fantasy role-play, and the guidelines call for "safe, sane, consensual, and loving" in anything involving kink. Every submission waits for an administrator to approve and schedule it, editors change wording as they see fit, and the guidelines say "we assume full editorial control".

Pictures are stock photos only; the FAQ says personal photos are refused to protect anonymity. The FAQ says none will "garner higher than an R-rating in a movie", and there is no switch to turn images off.

On the page load, in October 2026 the front page loaded 10 third-party domains across 91 requests, among them google-analytics.com, googletagmanager.com and doubleclick.net, with Google Ads the one ad network named, and it did not redirect elsewhere.

What the free tier holds

The stories index ran to 386 pages in October 2026, and the front page showed new posts dated from 3 to 12 October. Alongside stories there is a discussion section for advice requests and polls, which runs to 60 pages, story prompts, category pages such as one for making time in a marriage, and a "Biblical Sexuality" section. Authors choose up to 2 categories per story, and posts should be at least 300 words. Serials are allowed if each part stands alone, and stories of 2000 words or more may be considered for publication as premium content.

Comments are open to registered users only, and they are moderated against the same guidelines. The FAQ says the site will not facilitate contact between authors or readers, and comments generally may not link to outside sites.

The FAQ lists audio among what Ignite supporters receive: recordings of all Ignite stories and many regular ones, plus monthly downloadable compilations. The pages do not say how long recordings run, who narrates them or what format the compilations use.

Who it suits

It suits a married couple, or someone who shares the site's faith framework, who wants free erotic reading with a clear rulebook, advice threads and a community that will not broker contact between members. A reader who wants free reading and a free account that ask for no payment details, with audio as an optional extra, fits well.

It is a poor fit for anyone wanting content outside one married couple, anyone who objects to a religious frame around adult material, or a buyer who needs the Ignite price, processor and descriptor stated before committing. Images cannot be switched off, and the age-of-characters rule is worded as a ban on under-age content rather than a plain adults-only line.

Its strength is the free side: reading and a free account without payment details, and rules written down in detail.
