What it is and what it costs
Joybear is a subscription site from Joybear Pictures, which describes itself as a British film production company making "sex-positive, erotic films since 2003." The terms and privacy pages say JoyBear Pictures is a trademark of Strathblaine Media Ltd, which operates the site and acts as the data controller. The site's tagline is "Very British, Very Naughty". Its pitch is story-led films rather than a feed of clips, and its About page says the founder started the company because he was tired of seeing films with pleasure-less sex.
The public side is a shop window. The front page shows rows of newest features, collections and scenes, and the feature pages show a description and a cast list but mark the video itself "Members Only". Everything watchable sits behind a paid plan, and the pages show no free tier.
The plan ladder runs from a one-day trial up to a lifetime purchase, and the part that matters most is the front of it. The trial recurs at a higher rate than the ordinary monthly plan with downloads, so a member who takes the trial and does nothing lands on a larger monthly charge than one who simply bought the month; the figures are in the list below. Each 1 month plan box also shows a lower per-month price beside its recurring rate, and the page does not say whether that lower price is a first-charge amount. The terms also say what the trial gives: "By purchasing a Trial Membership you can view a maximum of ONE scene of you choice." A buyer weighing the trial should treat it as a one-scene sample with a 24-hour fuse.
Paying and stopping
The join page states who handles the money: "Payments are processed securely by Vendo Services and Epoch." The footer repeats it under "Authorised Payment Processors: Vendo, Epoch". The page also points buyers to the site's own support desk and to both billers' sites, which it calls its authorized sales agents. Payment methods offered at sign-up are credit card and PayPal.
"Reliable & Discreet Billing" is among the join page's member benefits, yet neither that page nor the terms says what name will show on a card or bank statement, and neither processor's name stands in for one.
Renewal and the trial clock are set out in the terms under "Billing/Cancellations". Memberships renew automatically for the rebilling period of their plan, unless the provider is notified through customer service 1 day before expiry. For trials, the terms say the trial "renews to a full membership 24 hours after sign-up", so the customer "must cancel the membership within that 24 hour trial period" by following the customer service instructions to avoid conversion to a full membership. They add that the pre-authorization is not a charge: the then-applicable monthly fee may be reserved against the card's available limit, and is only charged if the trial is not canceled in time. The provider takes no responsibility for bank charges or penalties from overdrawn accounts.
The cancel route is the support area. The terms say the subscriptions are automatically renewable unless canceled "through the support area", and the support area is a ticket-based help desk where a member submits an incident. Either side may also end a subscription at any time, without cause, by electronic or conventional mail. The join page adds a general line: "You may cancel your membership at any time. No hassle, guaranteed!"
In October 2026 the join page listed these plans, split between a streaming-and-download side and a streaming-only side:
- 1 day trial: $1.00, recurring at $29.95 every 30 days.
- 1 month: recurring at $19.95 every 30 days for the version with downloads, and at $24.95 every 30 days for the streaming-only version.
- 12 months: billed in one payment of $60.
- 3 months: billed in one payment of $30, listed on the streaming-only side.
- Lifetime: billed in one payment of $199.95.
The multi-month plans and the lifetime plan are described as single payments, so the pages show no rebill for them. The page does not state what happens when a 12 month period ends.
Refunds are covered in their own short section. The company refunds overcharging and technical problems that are its own failure, and refunds technical failures on the customer's side at its sole discretion. It also refunds customers who tell it within a 5-working-day period that they want to retract, provided the purchased service has not been used, and in that case the expenses directly tied to the refund are charged to the customer. Every refund goes back to the credit card used for the original purchase.
Account, data and the site's rules
Sign-up requires an account and agreement to the terms, the privacy policy and the cookie policy, shown as a checkbox on the join page. Login is a username and password, which the terms say must be kept confidential. The license is for personal, non-commercial use, with downloads and prints allowed on a single computer only.
Joybear's privacy policy names the General Data Protection Regulation as its frame and Strathblaine Media Ltd as controller. It says data from registration and purchases is used to provide the services and to tell the member about promotions and new services. The terms say the same about storing data to promote related products. The policy says the company does not share personal data with third parties except to manage services such as payments, order processing or maintaining the site, or when the member consents. A member can ask for details of their data and ask for it to be rectified or erased by contacting the company or sending a support ticket. Promotional emails can be switched off, though the policy notes it may take a few days.
The operator is named on the site's pages as Strathblaine Media Ltd, at an address in Droitwich, Worcestershire, UK. The 2257 page says all depicted persons were over 18 when the depictions were created, notes that some material predates July 3, 1995 and is exempt, and gives Joybear Pictures as the custodian of records. The footer line adds that models were at least 18 years old when photographed. The About page describes a safer-sex policy: performers undergo full STD testing within a maximum window of 14 days, tests are shared between performers before filming, and performers can choose to work with condoms or other protection. There is a content removal request link in the footer, and the terms set a complaint process under which reports of content that may be illegal or breach card association standards are reviewed and resolved within 5 business days.
Joybear's home page drew on 5 third-party domains in its October 2026 page load (cloudflareinsights.com, google-analytics.com, googleapis.com, googletagmanager.com and gstatic.com) across 175 requests; none is an ad network, and the page did not redirect elsewhere.
What the membership holds
The library is organized into Features, Collections, Scenes and a Performers directory. A feature is a story built around a theme or set of characters; the front page says features are typically 100 minutes long and consist of 5 individual scenes. The collections were introduced to mark 20 years of filmmaking and gather moments from the catalog. Scenes can be browsed by category, and the category list includes entries such as Just Women, Outdoor Sex, Romance, Real Life Couples, Group (4+), Selfies and Tattoos, alongside Joybear Favourites.
The join page lists the member benefits as 100% exclusive videos, hi-res photo updates, true 1080p video and mobile and tablet compatibility, plus 24/7 support and daily security checks, all as the site's own claims. Feature pages show download choices of Full HD, HD, SD and Mobile for members on the plans that include downloads, and members can add titles to favorites and comment on features after logging in. The streaming-only plans carry the label "no download allowed".
Who it suits
Joybear suits a buyer who wants a studio with a clear point of view, story-length films and a one-time lifetime or 12 month payment rather than an open-ended rebill. It also suits someone who likes to read the refund and cancellation terms before paying, because they are short and specific.
The caveats are about the front of the ladder. The trial gives one scene, runs for 24 hours and then recurs at the higher monthly rate, and the pages never say what name will show on the statement. The terms send cancellation to the support area, and the pages describe no cancel button in an account. What the site does well is the writing and the film-making: a single British studio with a fixed house style, feature-length titles and a stated production policy.
